Levelland Chamber of Commerce Ag Committee Scholarship Presentation

The Agriculture Committee of the Levelland Chamber of Commerce awarded two $1000 scholarships to Emma Ayers, Whiteface ISD and Stratton Shertz, Ropesville ISD. Both will be pursuing degrees in an agriculture related field. The Ag Committee’s purpose is to make the community aware of the significance and economic impact of ag industry locally. In addition, they strive to educate locals about the processes of the industry. The Ag Committee is intent on investing in youth who are seeking ag careers. In addition to the scholarships mentioned above, the ag committee also has an endowed scholarship at South Plains College for ag majors. The ag committee also conducted business pertaining to their Hockley County Ag Appreciation Shrimp Boil set for September 11, 2024 at the Mallet Event Center. This event is by invitation and will feature a guest speaker pertinent to the local ag industry and trends. Interested members of the Levelland Chamber of Commerce are invited to join the ag committee by calling the Chamber of Commerce.
